We are excited to announce the launch of updated product names, logos, and headers within our user interfaces as part of the CivicPlus® Solution Rebranding initiative. Rich Text Editor Options

The rich text editor is available when creating content for relevant content types.

Important Note

Line breaks in the Editor widget automatically double-space. To get a single line break, press Shift + Enter on your keyboard.

 

Editor Features

  • Bold: Bold text
  • Italics: Italicize your text
  • Strikethrough: Show your text with a line through it
  • More Text: Select to show additional options
    Text Editor more options.
    • Subscript: Allows you to have text smaller than your normal text and on the bottom, similar to a sub-text
    • Superscript: Allows you to have text smaller than your normal text and aligned to the top, similar to saying "x squared"
    • Font Family: Choose the font for your text
    • Font Size: Change the size of the font
    • Text Color: Allows you to edit the color of the text
    • Background Color: Modify the background of the text
    • Clear Formatting: Quickly remove extra formatting on your page. This is helpful if you paste content onto the site and it does not appear correctly.
    • Quote: Wraps your text in a q tag, which inserts quotation marks and informs screen readers and other devices that the content is a quote
    • Insert Abbreviation: Informs the screen reader that there is an abbreviation; enhances comprehension of the text for the end-user
    • Language: Tells screen readers if the specific text is a different language; enhances comprehension and translation for the end-user
  • Align Left: Align your text to the left
  • Align Center: Align your text to the center
  • Paragraph Format: Select a style such as Normal, Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3, and Code.
  • More Paragraph: Expand to view additional paragraph formatting

    • Ordered List: Add numbered lists to your content area. You can either select existing text to make a numbered list or you can start a new line and begin a new numbered list
    • Align Right: Align your text to the right
    • Align Justify: Justify your text
    • Unordered List: Add bulleted lists to your content area. You can either select existing text to make a bulleted list or you can start a new line and begin a new bulleted list
    • Decrease / Increase Indent: Decrease or increase the indentation of text
    • Quote: Insert blockquote styling around your text
  • Accessibility Checker: CivicPlus provides an accessibility checker for the content located in the Editor
  • Insert Image: Insert and format images into your content area
  • Insert File Link: Opens up the Asset repository so you can select a file to link to
  • More Rich: Select to view additional text options

    • Insert Link: Add any link to the page
    • Insert Table: Insert a table into your content area
    • Insert Video: Embed or link to a video
    • Embed URL: Paste a URL to embed
    • Special Characters: Insert special characters onto your page
    • Emoticons: Insert emojis
    • Insert Horizontal Line: Insert a horizontal line to separate text
  • Undo: Undo recent changes
  • Redo: Redo recent changes; only recognizes active edits, as soon as the page saves it will not be available
  • More Misc: Expand to view additional miscellaneous options

    • Code View: Work on the HTML side of the editor to add custom styles, colors, or other coding.
    • Fullscreen: Click to expand the editor to a full-screen view
    • Print: Click to print the text
    • Select All: Quickly and easily select all content that is in the editor
    • Help: View shortcuts for the editor
