Add a New Version of a Page

This article will show you how to create a new version / duplicate a version of an existing page.

 

Who can use this feature?
System Administrator | Owner | Publisher | Author

 

New User Interface (UI) Instructions

 

  1. Sign in to your site
  2. Navigate to your desired page and ensure you are using the new UI
  3. Select the Page menu and click Versions
    Page menu with Versions selected.
  4. Click the three-dot icon next to a version and select Duplicate
    Duplicate Versions.
  5. A new duplicate version will be created

  6. Make any desired changes to the page content
  7. Click Publish if you would like the duplicated version to be the published version of the page
    Publish version.

 

Old UI Instructions

  1. Sign in to your site
  2. Navigate to your desired page and ensure that Live Edit Is On
    Live Edit is On button.
  3. Select the Versions tab
    Versions tab.
  4. Click Add Version
    Add version.
  5. Fill out Version Options
    Version options.
    • Title (required): Create a title for your version
    • Version Notes (Internal Only): Create internal notes for this version of your page
    • Linked Page: Select to link to another page or external website
      Linked page fields.
      • Link: Add the URL
      • Link target: Click to open in a new window
      • Use Menu: Click to use the linked page's menu structure
    • Description: Provide a brief description of this version (1,000 character limit)
    • Keywords: Add keywords for enhanced search functionality
      Note: Used to improve site search results. An example is alternate words in the content. Press Enter to add each word or phrase. Separate each keyword with a comma.
    • Miscellaneous Tags: Add HTML page tags for enhanced search functionality
      Note: Tags can be added here to provide specific data for this page, such as meta tags and/or OData tags. Commas are not required between tags. Example: <meta name="author" content="John Doe"><script>document.title = "My Page";</script>
    • Page Tags: Cannot edit
    • Image: Click Choose Image to select an image (or upload an image)
      Note: The image will display in the Pages Widget when configured for Format 4.
    • Display: Create a Starting On and Stopping On for beginning and ending display dates
  6. Click Create New Version
    Create new version.
  7. Make desired changes to the page content
  8. Click Save And Publish for public view
    Save and publish.
