Add a Search Widget to Your Page

This article will show you how to add a Search Widget to your page. This widget allows you to add a search bar to a page.

New UI Instructions

1. Sign in to your website solution
2. Ensure that you are using the New UI (click the Try New UI button if you are not) and navigate to your desired page:
   
3. Click on the Widgets tab in the Administrative User Toolbar:
   
4. Drag and drop the Search widget onto your page:
   
5. If needed, add Helper Text that will display inside of the search box and will disappear after someone starts typing:
   
6. Click the Next button:
   
7. If needed, add Header Text and choose whether to Enable Department-Only Search with the provided checkbox:
   
8. Click the Done button:
   
9. Click the Save Changes button to save the page:

Old UI Instructions

1. Sign in to your website solution
2. Ensure that the Live Edit state is toggled to ON and navigate to your page:
   
3. Click the View all widgets button in the Content tab:
   
4. Drag and drop the Search widget to your desired area on the page:
   
5. Configure Content options on the left side panel:
   
   • Header Text: Create a header
   • Helper Text: Displays inside of the search box and will disappear after someone starts typing
   • Enable Department-Only Search: Check to display an option to search only the currently viewed department
6. Click the Save button:
   
7. View the new Search bar on your page:
