Add a Custom HTML Widget to Your Page

The Custom HTML widget has a wide range of uses. The most popular are:  

  • Custom Script
  • iFrames
  • Video Tour books
  • Vimeo Video Embeds
  • YouTube Video Embeds
  • Other Video Embeds

 

Important Note

Not all code will work with the CivicPlus system. If there is a conflict with the website base code, things may appear broken. Due to this, we recommend that you add custom HTML widgets on copied pages. If you need assistance, contact Support. Please be aware that CivicPlus does not support the use of HTML or Javascript. Support will not troubleshoot to determine why custom HTML or Javascript code does not work.

Instructions

  1. Click Try New UI
    try new ui
  2. Navigate to your desired page
  3. Click Widgets
    widgets
  4. Drag and drop the Custom HTML widget onto your page
    custom html
  5. Paste your custom code into the widget
    add code
  6. Click Done
    done
  7. Click Save
    save page

Old UI Instructions

Instructions

  1. Navigate to your desired page
  2. Ensure Live Edit Is On
    live edit on
  3. Click View all widgets in the Content tab
    view all widgets
  4. Drag and drop the Custom HTML widget onto the page where you would like your item to show
    custom html widget
  5. Paste your custom code into the widget
    add code
  6. Select Done
    click done
  7. Click Save at the top of the page
    save page
    • Note: You may not be able to see the output of your code in live edit. You may have to turn live edit off before being able to see what a user will see.
