Use Traceroute on Windows

Traceroute is a software tool that displays the path and basic information about the network path between two addresses. You will need access to a Terminal Window or Command Prompt to run this software.

 

Important Notes

  • Availability will depend on your Operating System.
  • Windows users will use the command “tracert”.
  • You can also use the "pathping" command, if available.

 

Instructions

  1. Click the Windows Start Menu icon

  2. Type "cmd" into the search bar inside the Start Menu

  3. Click& Command Prompt (CMD) when the search completes

  4. Type tracert <PRODUCTION DOMAIN>

  5. Hit Enter on your keyboard and wait for completion
  6. Copy the results and paste them into a text file
  7. Submit the text file for analysis
